Ultimately, we should not try to predict which direction prices will break the pattern schemes. That is not to say that growing Donchian Channel System can not meet their goals upside breakout or descending Donchian Channel System will not break the downside targets. They do.
However, when considering these models in terms of risk / reward and EDGE, it is best to treat them without bias and direction to take the principle of range expansion following range contraction rather than the complexity of trying to predict in which direction the price will be break-out.
